rescue of values of the regional and local cuisine, which are charged of history and food
culture. In this way, this type of study can bring us the possibility of a reflection on
the social interactions revealed from the transcript of culinary knowledge, indicating
certain eating patterns. From this premise is intended to analyze the sources, the

everything involving food preparation and the space reserved for food, consumption,
storage and preparation. Thus, analyzing the pages of this periodical between the
years 1914-1918, would seek to link the feminine role in the home with the issue
of food security especially regarding to the construction of a food heritage, since
its pages have references about everything involving food preparation, and the care
and maintenance of the house. In this sense, a question arises: how foods appear
in the analyzed source – the magazine Jornal das Moças – in the period 1914-1918?
How the extent of these themes are related to issues such as food security and the
female role at home? A magazine specially directed to women brings references to
the global conflict that erupted in mid-1914? And if it does, how they approach
this fact in the reports, articles and advertisements on food?

segurança alimentar e o papel feminino no lar?
