The didacticism of fluvial geomorphology of the Lower Alvoco Valley
Resumo
The catchment area of the Alvoco River, despite its small size, with just
over 190 km2, offers a variety of ways that give it a special area in the
context of fluvial geomorphology, as a result of the performance of a
fluvial-glacier dynamics. For this reason, the dominant morphology
headwaters preserves the marks left by the action of glacial processes,
while the vestibular part, the most striking features are associated
with the performance of related processes with both the fitting river
network, as with the subsequent switching more cold and wet periods,
with episodes of drier cold, which disrupted drainage and allowed the
accumulation of large amounts of material in these conditions moved
to the base of the slopes, forming deposits fossilized ancient watercourses.
Although a part of many of them is substantially preserved,
many others have been the subject of intense human exploitation that
stole them the fine fraction, leaving enigmatic piles of pebble. Thus,
the Lower Alvoco is rich in whether in terms of natural heritage, and
in terms of human activity embodied in acting on this heritage that
deserves to be studied, in order to be able to preserve all this valuable
heritage, both geomorphological, and historic.
