The Life of Pericles is one of the texts in which the Chaeroneus best describes
the philosophical education of a biographee. In Per. 4.6, Anaxagoras, the Intelligence,
is introduced to us as the foremost teacher of the greatest statesman of Athens. As,
centuries later, Diogenes Laertius writes an Anaxagoras’ biography, our goal is to show
points of convergence or divergence in the tradition as well as possible influences of
Plutarch’s style on Diogenes Laertius.
Nela, Anaxágoras, a Inteligência (Per.
