Estudos do Século XX, founded in 2001, is a journal subject to peer review, which is the property of the Centro de Estudos Interdisciplinares do Século XX da Universidade de Coimbra – CEIS20 (Centre of 20th century interdisciplinary studies – CEIS20), with multi-annual funding from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Foundation for Science and Technology). The journal is published by Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra (Coimbra University Press). The Board is composed of the Director and two Secretaries, one of whom act as the coordinator of the issue in question. An issue may, however, have two coordinators. The journal’s Editorial Committee is composed of renowned foreign researchers, who lend scientific merit to the journal, and the Research Group Supervisors. The Committee may also include some or all members of the CEIS20 External Scientific Advisory Board. Each issue focuses on one theme, the core purpose of the journal being, however, to disseminate the findings of research carried out on the 20th century. In view of such objective, the members of CEIS20 and other researchers of recognized scientific competence, who are expressly invited by the Journal coordinator, may submit scientific papers, recensions, news reports or other writings, which are published by decision of the Editorial Board. The CEIS20 lists a Call for Papers. The authors are required to revise only the first proof sheet. The Board and Publisher have the right to amend references, quotations, acronyms used in notes, and other formal elements of the text, according to the system adopted by the journal. For each article submitted, the author receives 2 copies of the relevant journal issue. The authors are expected to take full responsibility for the opinions expressed in their articles. The publication of images requires permission of the holder.
