Reflexions on Europe: the portuguese contributions to european culture
Resumo
Past sixty years after the beginning of the European construction, the
experience has already showed the potential of this history, but also its
problems. Europe is at a crossroads. Thinking about Europe, as Edgar Morin advised, is the way to find a future. It’s time for the intellectuals.
There seems to have been sufficient time to understand that only reviving
the European spirit can encourage European integration. Politicians,
jurists and economists have made their contribution. It is necessary,
now the intervention of the intellectuals, of the most diverse areas of
knowledge. Ideas are needed for Europe. It is necessary to give Europe
a soul. What is Portugal’s role in building this European identity?
É preciso Pensar a Europa,
É preciso, agora a intervenção
