Inventio and dispositio in the senatorial debate of Sallust’s Bellum Catilinae 50. 4-52
Resumo
This paper analyses the senatorial debate of Sallust’s Bellum Catilinae
50. 4-52 from a rhetorical perspective, more specifically from the points of view of
inuentio and dispositio. In order to do so, I confront the Sallustian exposition with the
remaining ancient sources for the debate and investigate the internal criteria adopted
in the monograph that explain the disparities between them.
