The music as a resource for the teaching and learning of Geography based on the theme 'mobility of the population'
Resumo
The present work aims to discuss the importance of music, art so close
to students’ everyday life, as a resource and strategy of teaching/learning process in Geography.
For this purpose, the song “Para os braços da minha Mãe” by Pedro Abrunhosa
was explored in the classroom context, under the subject ‘Population: evolution and
regional differences’, specifically with regard to’ Movements Migratory ‘, thematic present
in the curriculum of Geography A, in 10th year students. The results show that music is
an interesting instrument, facilitating the teaching-learning process, in the sense that it
promoted the interaction and sharing of knowledge and experiences between students/
teacher and stimulated the construction of a critical view of the geographical realities.
